Dreams of a Possible City

The Installation

Dreams of a Possible City is produced by the Stelline Foundation in partnership with leading financial security company Genworth Financial, and supported by Regione Lombardia and Comune di Milano.

Dreams of a Possible City exhibits the installation entitled ‘Tending to Infinity’ and is Italy’s second largest light installation by leading light artist Massimo Uberti.  Created with white neon, it is suspended in the sky and the concept is to create a continuum with the stars in the night sky above.

It also represents a dream of an infinite ideal city. It is created and inspired around a star shape, which is reminiscent of the layout of Sforzinda, the ideal city designed by the great Florentine Architect Antonio Averlino, known as Filarete, in the renaissance period around 1465. Tending to Infinity is one of the largest light installations in the world at 27 metres in diameter and is suspended 14 metres from the ground, it sits perfectly in the enchanting open-air Magnolia Cloister of The Stelline Foundation.
